tHe OnE

So Shinichi Osawa is probably like the coolest asian in the world I think possibly after edwin maybe even just before him. His music, although with an air of sameness, is riddled with originality and azn flair which has had me mesmorised since my first encounter with this musical genius when I discovered the aforementioned Popper.

Someone who has inhabited my musical collection since it's birth must be pretty special but it ceases to amaze me that ShinShin is so overlooked in the blogging/musical community.

After listening to his album for a little over a year now since it's first release, I have realised that there are only about 4 or his songs floating around the machine that is hype. Because of this I've decided to post a few of my favourite tracks from his album 'The One'.

The tracks I've chosen are the 4 that I think define Osawa, complex running melodies and super beautiful chord combos.

PS ENJOY THIS 320KBS ISH

The Patch - Shinichi Osawa (Alt Link)

The Golden - Shinichi Osawa (Alt Link)

Rendezvous - Shinichi Osawa (Alt Link)

Our Song - Shinichi Osawa (Alt Link)

If you havn't got it already check out his cover of The Chemical Brother's classic, 'Star Guitar' as it really is a work of art.

Enjoy these super rare tracks and come and see us at RAM JAM this friday at Candy's Apartment>>>>>

EXCLURKINSIVE

Super exclusive post today.

Surkin is releasing Next of Kin MarkII very soon which features remixes of white knight two: one featuring chromeo (which is blogged to death), a remix by laidback luke, blaqstarr and bobmo.

The laidback luke and blaqstarr remixes are no where to be foundon the internet I've discovered so get them here first!

the laidback luke one is pretty average but the Blaqstarr one is super sick and puts a Blaqqy spin on the trippy white knight piano that we all know and love.

Actually people dont really like white knight two I've found, everytime i play it I drop into the piano then look up and see everyone has left or theyre standing there telling me how shit I am and to play some RnB.

Anyway ill put the laidback luke, blaqstarr and bobmo remixes up so check em:::::

ALSO found this remix of the massively underrated/played digitalism song 'Homezone'. This remix is by Proxy and is tres fat so expect to hear it this friday at Ram Jam @ Candys.

Make sure you come and check it out cause it's gonna be epic huge/scary halloweeny.

HERE'S BENI

We've all heard the rumours about Riot in Beligum breaking up and after so long of not hearing any new releases I think it's about time to finally ditch the Riot.

All is not lost however, as Beni is backkkk.

Beni was one half of Riot in Beligum and a member of the genre defining bang gang and he has recently been recruited by french boutique label Kitsune.

His newest work 'My Love Sees You' is featured on the 6th installment of the Kitsune Compilation Series. This proves that Australia is still one of the front runners in electronic musicz.

Here's the aforementioned track

My Love Sees You - Beni

and a couple of his remixes which you may or may not have heard

Pogo (Beni Remix) - Digitalism

Kansas City (Beni Remix) - Sneaky Sound System

I posted the geeks were right remixes a while back so here's a super bonus remix of it by Does it offend you yeah which is super fat.

SEXY REXY

So Rex the Dog's latest album has just been released titled 'The Rex the Dog Show', there was an internet leak a while back but it now has been digitally released with a physical release set for september some time.

You may remember Rexy from his Tony the beat remix by the Sounds which was thrashed everywhere anyone went. The quality of that remix has been transfered into album format as this record is quite hectic. He has however been a bit lazy, with only a handful of legitimately new tracks being released. His past hits Prototype, Maximise, Circulate and Frequency have all been included AS WELL AS his remixes of Tony the Beat and The Knife's Hearbeats... LAZY INDEED.

This is tres frownable but is made up for by the excellentness of the tracks that are in fact new.

These are just a couple of the hectic tracks:

Itchy Scratchy - Rex the Dog

Italian Skyline - Rex the Dog

Gecko - Rex the Dog

Here's one of the older tracks which goes massively:

Maximise - Rex the Dog

AND BONUS

Remix of the first single to be released 'I can see you, can you see me?' which is epic massive.

I can see you, can you see me? (Mr. Miyagi remix) - Rex the Dog

HURRY

Haven't posted for ages been super busy working full time etc etc. There's been a cool release on Boys Noize records since i last posted by the Faint. This is possibly their first release for a long time / i may have made that up not sure but they have full support by Boys Noize, D.I.M. and Shadow Dancer who have all chucked out a remix of The Faint's newest release 'The Geeks were Right'.

The original sounds super nice with the vocals and these guys have taken the best parts of the vocals and added their signature sounds to each remix. Boys Noize and D.I.M. remix is hard and strong and sinister and fat while the Shadow Dancer one is just as good but slightly more melodic which I think goes with the vocals a bit better than the sinisters.

Here are the two remixes

The Geeks Were Right (Boys Noize vs D.I.M. Remix) - The Faint

The Geeks Were Right (Shadow Dancer Remix) - The Faint

AND since we're all waiting on the Boys Noize remix of Focker, here's a remix by Phrenzy which is very close in sickness to the Boys Noize one.

Focker (Phrenzy Remix) - Late of the Pier

Sorry for the late post, will bombard you with shitloads of music over the next week to make up for it.

SUPERSTAR DJS!

So the Chemical Brothers are back again with another track from their Electronic Battle Weapon series with 'Midnight Madness'. It was officially released today but was blogged about ages and ages ago and youve probably heard it all over the radio by now but here it is again anyway. The 10th Electronic Battle Weapon isnt as massive or sinister as the previous weps but I think it's one of the best. It is produced incredibly well and is so cute and infectious, the bassline is sosososo cute which is why I love it so.

Electronic Battle Weapon 10 (Midnight Madness) - The Chemical Brothers

HOWEVER

The madness of midnight is not the only reason I have made this post . .. . . nonono it was just a filler track to prepare everyone for the main attraction of this post. We have been waiting for this track for so long now, we even tried to make a candybar edit that resembled this version just so we could be the first to play it out. Was only released officially today so get your first 320kbps copy here!

HURRY THE FOCK UP ALEX

Turbo recordings, why these guys are so unrecognised is beyond me. I mean, they got everything to become as big as the ed bangers, they have a renowned frontman (Tiga) and sinister sounds that make Waters of Nazareth sound like First Love and that make First Love sound like a toilet.

Everyone's heard of Tiga . . . He owns Turbo
Everyone's heard of Proxy . . . They're reppin' Turbo
Everyon's heard of Jesper Dahlback . . . he reppin'
ZZT and D.I.M. . . Better believe they be reppin'

Here's the 2nd latest release on this sinister label by Rainer Werner Bassfinder. This duo consists of Jesper Dahlback and 'The Dove' aka the man himself, Tiga. This release is pretty minimal but after a few full listens I know everyone will be creaming over these so go grab some tissues.

Minimal Scarf Fuckers Drown! - Rainer Werner Bassfinder
Roses are Red - Rainer Werner Bassfinder

I don't know if anyone has been stalking Boys Noize but he's upped his remix of Late of the Pier's Focker. The original of this song is so so so sick, with production from Erol Alkan ofcourse it was always going to be sick. The Boys Noize remix. . . omg this track is going to be massive. I think people have come to expect funky disco remixes from Mr Noize as of late but it seems he was waiting for the perfect track to blow all our brains and thank god he chose this one.

You can listen to the preview of this track on his Myspace but in the meantime learn to love the original so we can all truly appreciate this monster remix when it's finally released (and i guess keep checking out this blog because we'll surely have it first knowing us and our lame internet scouring ways).

Focker - Late of the Pier

Also i bet everyone's wondering why there's a dick at the top of your page, well that is the actual artwork for Bassfinder's release LOLOLOLOL Tiga is v v funny.

GO SUPPORT TURBO BECAUSE THEY ARE THE NEXT BIG THING

RM JM ND MSTRKRFT

Big weekend this was, had to play at Ram Jam on the friday and then go and check out Mstrkrft on the saturday.

Was one of the best Ram Jams we've played at, probably because we were filling the main set this time so the vibe was pumping throughout our whole set (or maybe we are just hectic who knows). We were pretty pleased with our set and got asked a few times if we could play our remix of Frau by Boys Noize.

We thought we'd be generous and post this remix so now everyone can play it!!#!311 Be warned it sounds a bit average on your tinny-arse laptop speakers but drop it on a club system to blow some brainz.

Frau (Candybar chopit) - Boys Noize

Next up was MSTRKRFT.

The setup of the venue was pretty average, with the only decos being some giant dangling glowsticks. Cant blame MSTRKRFT for this as when I saw Justice at the same venue (Metro in Sydney) all they had were some cheap styrofoam crosses dangling so it's possibly the venue which restricts all but the shittest of decorations.

Their set was pretty flawless, no beatmatching errors and pretty good song selection however I think they should have considered that a lot of the people there were people newly on the MSTRKRFT BNDWGN and would not have known a lot of the obscure songs they played. I havent heard anyone else talk about the show yet so not sure if this is true or not but who knows....

Anyway i hated this song at first but after hearing it plus a super hidden remix on Saturday night i think I may have fallen in love with it. The track is Bounce and is set for release on the so far unnamed album due out on an unknown record label in September. Everyone Ive spoken to about this track has hated it but just give it a proper listen and see how funky and fat it is.

Bounce (feat. N.O.R.E.) - MSTRKRFT

This remix is not the remix i heard on saturday but one equally as hectic nonetheless. It's by the High Powered Boys who consist of Surkin and Bobmo (last post) who are famous for their choppy vocal funktrack Hoes Get Down. The Bounce vocals are chopped up and will add a slice of funkiness to any set, can really hear the similarities between this remix and hoes Get Down I think.

Bounce (High Powered Boys Remix) - MSTRKRFT
Hoes Get Down - High Powered Boys

Anyways check them out and also a couple of my favourite old MSTRKRFT remixes (i think the new ones are fair avg).

Ceolakanth is an Android (MSTRKRFT Remix) - Polysics
Some Like You (MSTRKRFT Remix) - Revl9n

BOBMO!!!!!!!!

Everyone is on the French electro bandwagon at the moment so obviously French electro is a no-go for this blog (will contradict this post soon most likely), but Bobmo is an exception. Despite being thrashed on the Bang Gang LSD mix many are still quite unfamiliar with Bobmo and his trax.

Bobmo is only like 18 or something and he's already producing with the likes of Surkin in his collaberation 'High Powered Boys'. His forte is his ability to make a driving electro tracks that continuously build for the duration of the tracks (FOR EG THESE 2)...

Legally Dead for 4'31 - Bobmo
Rock the - Bobmo

HOWEVER

He can also produce baltimore with the best of them (well produce and also be remixed). If you like to crunk about to baltimore funk crunk booty bunk funk then try these tunes on for size.

To the Bobmobile (Kazey and Bulldog Remix) - Bobmo
Turn on, cop out - Bobmo

If you like Bobmo check out the rest of the Institubes crew who are miles ahead of those Ed Bangers . . .
